It was dinner for 2. The pho broth was favorable, the beef was soft and tender, and the noodles were delicious. I’m not sure why but most Vietnamese restaurants in NY and NJ provide lemons and not limes with the pho. Another unique thing is the Hoisin sauce flavour varies but seems to be less sweet in NY/NJ and more concentrated. The Nam Son Combo King is called that for a reason. The plate is massive, the combo of meat, veggies, and vermicelli was delicious and flavourful. The shrimp roll on sugar cane was also very good. This is a plate to be shared with 2 unless you have a massive appetite. The pho $14, the Combo King $45, with tax and tip the total meal was $74.

I was kind of hoping this place would be the hangover cure I was looking for but it wasn’t. I got number 5, brisket tendon tripe. Salted lemon soda. The spoons were pretty crazy, had solid teeth marks on it… bathroom wasn’t very clean either… I’ve definitely had better broth. Price was ok I guess since it was in Manhattan. Will opt for another pho place next time. Probably going to stick to Brooklyn if I want pho again.

As a Vietnamese, this place is one of the best ones in Chinatown imo the pricing is so affordable too! I’ve been eating here for 10 years and their bun bo hue never disappoints lol but prepare an empty stomach since their portion is huge

I’ve been going here since I was little and love it. There’s an extensive menu with plenty of vegetarian options and everything I’ve had so far has been good. Best vegetarian spring rolls I’ve ever had and I also love the Vietnamese iced coffee

Our group decided to stop here for our dinner and it was worth it. They offer a variety of traditional authentic Vietnamese dishes. We love the food and the cozy atmosphere. I personally enjoyed “Banh hoi bo la lot”. Taste really good !!! They have big portion of everything and it’s affordable (you get disc when paid by cash). Overall, we love the experience here

I didn’t eat in Nam Som Vietnamese Restaurant yet but I did do takeout a few times. It looks very festive and bright and is always busy. Staff are okay. They have a cash and credit price but it wasn’t much difference less than a dollar on $45 meal. Sorry I was too hungry and didn’t take pics of what I ordered but it was very good. Ordered a big noodle without tripe and they got that right. Also big was pretty big, I ate as much as I could and had to eat the rest a few hours later. Got spring rolls and they were delicious nice and crispy. Lettuce was looking very edible. Only problem I had was the sauce was on the bottom. So staffers make sure it is on top, it would have been a problem if I had no place to put the spring rolls trying to get the sauce out. Last thing I ordered was a pork chop on rice. That was also excellent for lunch the next day. Look forward to more take out or maybe I can stay one day. Thanks for having a great restaurant.

My family has been coming here for as long as I could remember, dating back nearly 2.5 decades ago. Each year, on random days and on special occasions, we come here to have lunch or dinner or just to have a nice meal or place to catch up. Over the years, we have seen the prices increase astronomically. It is now twice as much as it was when we first started coming here. I understand the economy is also in a different place than it was but $16 for a pho now is insanely high when you can get one for $11 a few blocks away. Don’t get me wrong, pho here is pretty decent but in addition to soaring prices, the taste of the pho has taken a dip. I remember very rich broths but now it’s almost as if it’s been watered down to save on costs. While I don’t think the pho broth is as good as it used to be, the other dishes remain delicious! I’m a big fan of the pork chops here, although the amount given varies day to day. The beef cubes are also amazing and full of flavor. A plus is the waiters here are always efficient, polite and ready to help. They seem to know my parents and their needs/wants well. Haha after all, they’ve probably come to this restaurant well before I was even born. Everyone there is pretty chill and they don’t seem to ever kick you out so it’s a nice place to hang out with friends as well.
